The Nikon Z f features two memory card slots. One slot supports SD/SDHC/SDXC (UHS-II) memory cards and the second slot supports MicroSD/MicroSDHC/MicroSDXC (UHS-I) cards.
Either card can be used for overflow or backup storage, for separate storage of NEF (RAW) and JPEG or HEIF pictures, or for storage of duplicate JPEG or HEIF pictures at different sizes and image qualities; images can also be copied between cards.
If you shoot a lot of action and require the buffer to clear quickly then we would recommend the following cards:
- Delkin Devices Black UHS-II V90
- Kingston Canvas React Plus UHS II V90
- Sony SF-G Tough Series UHS-II V90
- Lexar Professional 2000x UHS-II V90
If you don't shoot continuously then we would recommend the following cards:
- Delkin Devices BLACK UHS-I V30
- Kingston Canvas Go Plus V30
- Sony SF-E Series V60
- Angelbird AV PRO SD (MK2) V60
- Sony SF-M Tough Series V60
For shooting video the maximum bitrate that the Z f is capable of recording in is approximately 340 Mbps. This means you only require a memory card that is V60 rated for video such as the Sony SF-E Series V60.
